OnBarcode.com Free QR Code Scanner — Fast, Secure, and Easy to Use
How to Use OnBarcode.com Free QR Code Scanner: A Quick Guide
1) Download & install
2) Launch the app
- Open BarcodeLabelsScanner.exe (or the QR Code Scanner executable).
3) Choose barcode type
- Select QR Code from the barcode-type list (recommended for best accuracy).
4) Load an image or capture
- Click Load Barcode Image and select a JPG/PNG/GIF/BMP/TIFF file, or drag-and-drop the image into the app.
- If the app supports webcam capture, use the camera option to point at a printed/displayed QR code.
5) Scan & read
- Click the Scan or OK button. The scanner will decode the QR code and display the extracted data in the result textbox.
6) Troubleshooting tips
- If no result: try cropping the image to contain only the QR area, increase contrast, rotate image to correct orientation, or use a higher-resolution image.
- Multiple QR codes: scan one code at a time for higher reliability.
- Unsupported image: convert multi-page TIFFs to single-page or export as PNG/JPEG.
7) Integration (for developers)
- Use OnBarcode .NET/Java SDKs if you need programmatic scanning: install the appropriate package (e.g., OnBarcode.Barcode.Reader via NuGet) and call BarcodeScanner.Scan(“file”, BarcodeType.QRCode) to get decoded strings.
8) License & support
- The scanner is offered free for personal/business use on OnBarcode’s site; check their download page for licensing details and support links.
